Is this a new way of teaching people how to drink and handle thier alcohonol? The theory that people have in regards to drinking is that people cannot handle thier alcohol, especially American kids, due to the drinking age being too high in which the kids don't have time to learn how to drink responsibly and that because the age is too high kids do it to spite thier parents and by doing that they go all out and eventually causing an accident or doing something bad!

Actually, I think the age of 21 is a good age for drinking, in younger age, the maturity to handle such thing is impossible.. I mean you remember what we used to do when we were teenagers, doing crazy things not worrying of the consequences, I think the older you get, the better chance to know how to handle life, and that implies on drinking I started drinking when I was 25, and from day one I got to know how to handle it.. never gotten wasted, or blacked out, or gotten sick from it, or said or did something that I never knew what it was till this very day..

From experience, I think its better to start drinking when you are wiser, not the other way around.. drinking in early age will make you do things you dont want to do when you are older.. including alcohol poisoning..

Thats my 2 cents.. :)

The Don: I totally understand where you are coming fun and I agree with you somewhat! I do have a question though and that question is: "Some areas in Europe the drinking age is 16, in my point of view drinkers at that age in Europe are better than legal (21 year old) people in the US! What's your point of view in that?"

The Stallion,

In countries that allow underage drinking or drinking in the age of 16, I am sure there are rules and regulations to protect these minors from intoxication.. I mean there is more to it than just saying its ok to drink when you are 16, I think rules such as having an adult supervision and quantity control is needed in such cases.. I am not sure but these are some examples I am just thinking about.. although I dont agree in giving a 16 year old kid a bottle of vodka and sending him home, I hope there is more to it than just allowing them to drink and thats it..

In the states, they are also debating the driving rules and regulation in actually increasing the age limit of drivers to 18 rather than 16, because of all the problems teens are causing on the streets.. not to forget all the regulations on teen drivers under the age of 18, for instance, they cant drive when its dark unless its an emergency, and always have to have someone with a valid license in the car when they are out driving..
